So Here's Our Idea
The evening of Dad's memorial service a bunch of us were sitting around Mom and Dad's house wondering, "Well. What do we do now?" Then I'm pretty sure Dad whispered to one of us, "go to the beach house." And so a bunch of us scooped up Grandma and did just that (minus most of the children and dogs). And we had a time together worthy of our fun-loving Dad's memory. We even gave the beach house a new name.
Dr. Kari and I have been talking about hosting another family beach party in July 2019. Most important, Grandma is already on board. If you think you'd like to join us, keep reading. As soon as we know you're on board too, we'll invite you to join the co-creating.
The Details So Far
- Arrive on Friday, July 19, or Saturday, July 20, 2019
- Party wraps up Monday afternoon, July 22, 2019
- We're working on housing for everyone who let's us know they're IN by Thanksgiving (that's three nights which will include tents in the front yard, the Johnson's house and maybe a rented RV)
- Each family kicks in $75 for groceries and supplies
- Each family helps to prepare one killer lunch or dinner (using the pooled $$)
- Each family helps with KP for at least one meal
- And at the request of the septic tank, all showers will last no more than thirty seconds
